MCP · For your assistant

Connect a compatible assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your saved recipes, meal plan, and shopping lists. Ask it to find, adapt, and organize recipes using the AI account you already have.

API tokens · For your own tools

Connect your own scripts and applications to Recipinned. Build a recipe migration, a personal tool, or an automation with the help of your preferred coding assistant and AI provider.

Explore API tokens

MCP is experimental and the API reference is in Public Preview. To use MCP, you’ll need a Recipinned trial or subscription and an AI assistant plan that supports custom connections. Setup details are in the linked guides.

Keep the recipes you love.

Switching recipe apps shouldn’t mean starting over. An AI assistant can help move an existing collection into Recipinned.

Let your assistant help with the move

Work from a recipe export or copied recipe text. Your assistant can organize the source and save recipes through MCP, or help you build a migration with the API.

Make the collection yours

Once imported, your favorites become recipes you can edit, organize into cookbooks, and add to your meal plan.

Source formats vary, so start with a small sample. Read the JSON import guide or see scripted imports for the practical details.

From a dinner idea to a week you can cook.

Find a favorite, adapt it to the ingredients you want to use, and turn dinner ideas into meals on your Recipinned calendar.

A few answers before you connect your assistant.

Can I use the AI subscription I already have?

That is the idea: connect a compatible assistant to Recipinned through MCP and use your own AI account. Your assistant's plan, usage limits, and workspace settings determine which custom connections are available. Our setup guide links to the current client requirements.

Is Recipinned included in my AI subscription?

No. Recipinned and your AI provider are separate services. You need an active Recipinned trial or subscription to use MCP, plus access to a compatible assistant. Custom scripts that call an AI API may have separate provider charges; a chat subscription does not necessarily cover API usage.

Do I need to know how to code?

MCP is the path for using a compatible assistant without writing a script. API tokens are for custom tools and automations, including tools you build with a coding assistant. Both connect to the recipes and account features you already have access to in Recipinned.

Can I bring recipes from another service?

Yes, with a workflow suited to the source. Your assistant can help convert recipe exports or copied text, then save recipes through MCP or prepare them for JSON import. API tokens support custom migration scripts for larger collections. The process depends on the source format, so check a small sample before importing the rest.
