Mealime’s shutdown: what are your alternatives?
Mealime announced October 21, 2026 as its discontinuation date. Its official transition notice points to Meals Hub, where it says its recipe collection will continue. Meals Hub is free and can be used even if you don’t shop at an Albertsons Companies store.
If you want a dedicated home for recipes from different sources, with a calendar and shared shopping lists, Recipinned is another option. Here’s how to decide whether it fits your routine.

Bring your Mealime recipes to Recipinned
Import recipes directly from public Mealime URLs. Paste a recipe link into Recipinned to save it in your collection, then add it to your meal plan and generate a shopping list.
We continually update our importer to support more recipe sites and improve results. If a URL doesn’t work, send us a link and we’ll take a look!
Try one week before moving your routine
-
Start with a few familiar recipes
Import your favorites from public Mealime recipe URLs, or add recipes you already cook. Your saved recipes become the starting point for your first week in Recipinned.
-
Plan the dinners you’ll actually make
Put meals on your calendar and adjust the servings for your household. Leave space for leftovers or a night out, and move meals as your week changes.
-
Build your list and cook
Generate a shopping list, check what you already have, and head to your usual stores. Invite your family to share the work. If Recipinned fits, build your collection from there.
Want a backup of your collection later? You can export your personal recipes as text or JSON. Shared cookbooks and meal plans are excluded.
Questions about switching from Mealime
What happened to Mealime?
Mealime announced that it would be discontinued on October 21, 2026, and directed users to Meals Hub in Albertsons Companies grocery apps and websites. Its official notice says Mealime recipes will remain available in Meals Hub.
Is Recipinned a good Mealime alternative?
Recipinned is a good fit if you want to save your own recipes, schedule meals on a calendar, and generate shopping lists for your household. You choose which recipes to add and plan. If your priority is Mealime’s existing recipe collection, look at Meals Hub, the successor recommended by Mealime.
Does Recipinned include Mealime’s recipe library?
No. The workflow shown here starts with recipes you import or add yourself, then place on your calendar. Recipinned does not include Mealime’s curated recipe collection. If those recipes are your priority, Mealime directs users to Meals Hub.
Can I transfer my Mealime recipes to Recipinned?
Yes. Paste a public Mealime recipe URL into Recipinned to import it into your collection. We continually update our importer. If a URL doesn’t work, send it to [email protected] so we can take a look. Your Mealime account, favorites, and preferences do not transfer automatically.
Is Recipinned a free Mealime alternative?
Recipinned offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The Family Plan requires a subscription after the trial: $60 billed annually (equivalent to $5 per month), or $5.99 billed monthly, for up to three family members. Meals Hub is free according to Mealime’s notice.
Do I need to shop at a particular grocery store?
No. Take your Recipinned shopping list to whichever stores you use. The list is generated from your meal plan and grouped by category, so you can use it on your phone or print it before heading out. We’re currently investigating shopping integrations.
Can I export my recipes if I switch again?
Yes. You can export your personal Recipinned recipes from Account & Settings in text or JSON format. Shared cookbooks and meal plans are not included in that export.
